"Outstanding" does not begin to capture how special this place is...

I grew up looking across the water at Heart Bay on Lake George and in my mind it's paradise. This past June, my family had a reunion and rented three places, including Pine. The Cook family are as attentive as you need but give you your space. Pine Cottage provides perfect lakeside ease. This part of Lake George is far from the noise and honky-tonk of Lake George Village 30 miles south. Where do I start? It's achingly beautiful and full of history, crystal clear water, fantastic sailing, swimming, boating and hiking right outside your door. Everything I treasured from memories of my youth.

Calm Serenity

My husband and I enjoyed the beauty of Lake George while staying here at Pine Lodge for a week in the month of June. The peaceful days and nights were a welcome retreat for us. We hiked rogers rock trail, canoed the calm waters, saw families of geese, loons, fox, an array of birds, and the stars were so bright! I highly recommend the Cook cottages to anyone, the family was friendly and helpful to no end..

... I have learned that a magical time at Heart Bay is dawn.

I have had the opportunity to be a guest at the Cook’s Heart Bay Lodges for several years. I have a very busy school year and the place and the lake have become the highlight of my summer. Besides the swimming and the boating, the starry nights and cloudless or billowing clouded days, I have learned that a magical time at Heart Bay is dawn. If you are an early riser and want to be greeted by the silent world waking to the sounds of morning, you can sit on the dock and hear the loons calling and the little waves lapping, or see the mallards bobbing for breakfast and the fish jumping... you might even see the Great Blue Heron heading for its morning fishing grounds. In Heart Bay, I can begin my morning in the lap of the nature. It gives me a perfect start to my day and always renews me.

Heart Bay is a paradise I’ve been returning to from California for 40 years!!!

Heart Bay is a paradise I’ve been returning to from California for 40 years!!! I cherish my early morning swims in the gorgeous water of Lake George, daily walks in the pristine Adirondacks followed by even more swimming and boating in the warm waters. Dinners are divine in the lovely cottage settings with incredible views. My favorite is going to bed at night, lulled by the soothing sounds of the lake lapping gently against the shore. Peaceful, tranquil, a harmony of extraordinary nature and easeful living rarely found in our world. The Cook family takes pride in their meticulous care of their wonderful lakefront cottages.

Jewels in memory

When friends hear we’re going to Lake George, there’s often a chorus of groans – it’s so crowded, so commercial! But, no, we say – this is way up the lake, at Heart’s Bay, right near Ticonderoga; it’s different. We’ve stayed at the Cook’s main house, and in one of the lovely old, traditional cottages, in each season over the years. The swimming in the shallow bay is warm right into autumn, which is our favorite time there. The hikes in the fall foliage, visiting the harvest festival at Fort Ticonderoga, and strolling in the village (be sure to pop in the post office to admire the 1930s mural), rowing out on the lake at sunset – all are jewels in memory.
